Hi everyone!
My husband has been in my daughter’s life for years, loving and raising her as his own. To her, he is Dad in every way that matters. We want to make that bond legal through adoption so she can have the security of knowing the man who tucks her in at night is her dad not only in her heart, but on paper too.
Her biological father has hardly been a part of her life—he is not on her birth certificate, he has other children he doesn’t have custody of, and he was emotionally abusive in the past. I do not ask him for child support, and my daughter, who is almost 6, doesn’t even remember him.
Unfortunately, the legal process to finalize this adoption is costly, and that’s where we are asking for help. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward the legal fees to give our daughter the stability, protection, and permanency she deserves.
