My name is Taija Mackey. Around winter of 2022 I suffered a severe knee injury that was almost the end of my career. I got put into a depressive state due to me not being able to fulfill my dream of playing college basketball. I did months of rehab and recovery to gain strength in my knee again. I went through an immense amount of paperwork trying to get a second chance at my dream once more. I now have my second chance to accomplish my goal but now I’m faced with a debt that I had no idea existed. Without paying for this I can’t continue to play after all the work I’ve put in and will continue to put in. Not only will this help me on the court but this will also allow me to pursue my degree in sports medicine. Anything helps to bring me closer on being the best version of me I can be. Thank you.
