Bought property in Florida. At closing on the old house, we learned that a fraudulent lien had been placed on that property, and the title company didn't catch it.
Repeated repairs to stuff, bureaucratic delays, medical issues have depleted our funds.
We've been living in a shed and RV on the property for 4 months, with a couple of side trips to Airbnbs for showers and laundry. We actually started out in tents, during several 20-degree nights.
Septic and well permits are in hand. After 6 weeks waiting for a construction permit, we were told that we're on a flood plain (debatable), and we'd have to place the house somewhere else on the property. We've identified that, and now we have to clear that and prepare it for the house.
House is a really nice larger prefab, but it's not useful without a place to put it.
Electrical from a generator. Water pumped from two 275-gallon totes.
11 people affected. Many with emotional and physical challenges.
Reserve funds are gone.
