My dad, Wayne Ennist, is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. Diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, it’s been a hard few months for our family. Watching him transition from being the rock of our household, someone who was up early every day, working tirelessly, to not being able to work at all has been deeply difficult. Known to many in Weedsport as “Cowboy,” he has always been the one people turn to when they need help, offering his skills and a smile to anyone in need.
Wayne is a retired veteran and master contractor. The pride he takes in hard work comes second only to his love for family and friends. If you’ve crossed paths with him, you know how genuinely he cares for others, always willing to share a story or lend a hand. His generous spirit made our community a better place, but now it's his time to lean on us. His medical bills, coupled with everyday expenses, are mounting, and there's no way for him to manage them without assistance.
We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help ease the financial burden that has been growing while Wayne focuses on the fight of his life. Every bit of support can provide a breath of relief during these trying times. In October, there will be a benefit event at Jack’s Reef—an effort to bring people together who know and love Wayne and support him as he has done for so many.
