On April 30th, 2022, I will be taking the challenge to ride 200 miles on a road bike from London, England, to Paris, France, in 24 hours. L2P24. My brother, Neal Wilson, invited me last July 2021, when the event was postponed because of COVID 19. At that time, I weighed 260 pounds, my blood pressure out of control although medicated, and I felt inspired to take the ride for my life. My goal riding weight is 230/235, and thank God; I’m there. The process has been grueling, and I have grown spiritually and shrunk physically, and at 57, I can see a better finish line! To those who believe in second, third, and as many chances as the Creator offers, you are challenged to:
1.) Pray for me and someone you know who needs to be encouraged to change or to hang in there!
2.) List a Chicago-based non-profit organization that you would like to have entered in a raffle to be one of three who will receive ALL proceeds from this challenge. Riding HOPE, I will deliver the checks to recipients within 30 days after the challenge. This fundraising challenge is open now and will end on May 7th, 2022.
3.) Share a goal you would like to have prayed over and claim victory by this time next year.
“The race does not go to the swift, nor the strong, but to the one who endures to the end!” Taken from Ecclesiastic 9:11 and Mathews 24:13. Learned as a pledgee for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
