Abel was nominated by his teachers to attend the national youth leadership forum Pathways to STEM, an envision Worldstrides program at Oglethorpe University. Only bright highly motivated students are singled out by their teachers for nomination to the program. NYLF Pathways to STEM is designed to give future leaders an unparalleled opportunity while still in elementary school to discover their strengths and to begin to acquire the leadership and life skills needed for academic career success. Abel will join other students from around the country in intensive, engaging, hands-on workshops focused on 5 skills that are essential to success. Abel also will have the opportunity to explore a future career in three exciting STEM pathways: medicine, engineering, and crime scene investigation.
