Hello!
After more than a year of creative exploration, I'm thrilled to share that my first evening-length group dance work, "Our Potential," will premiere at LifeWorld on Dec 4 & 5, 2025. This deeply collaborative piece features the extraordinary talents of performers Nora Raine Thompson, Sam Kann, Zo Williams, and Neva Guido. I am beyond grateful to be collaborating with Isabella Koen, who is creating a hypnotically thrilling sound scape. And I am so lucky to have the wildly skillful illumination expertise of Shana Crawford, who will be designing how the light behaves in this work.
We're in the final stretch - bursting with choreography, musical scores, state-of-making in full swing, and fleshing out the underbelly of this world.
My community and beyond, I need your support to bring this project into its final stages.
Since 2024, I, along with my collaborators, have been improvising, dancing, reading, writing, and talking about self-optimization and self-dissolution. We’ve been researching paranoia, telepathy, bio-hacking, the self-help industry, and the pathologization of madness. We are creating a performance that demonstrates the uncanny relationship between capitalist, isolationist games of self-improvement and the felt reality of our inseparability. We are asking about our tendencies and desires for merging and for differentiation in relationships, making no definitive judgments but looking closely at the textures, overlaps, and impacts of how we move, together.
The world continues to demand simple answers and moral absolutes but here we're creating something that embraces complexity and nuance. This kind of artistic inquiry - while frequently undervalued and underfunded - is essential for developing more ethical ways of relating to each other and our world. How do we come together? How do we move apart? How do we keep going? How do we rely on each other?
Art that asks difficult questions and resists easy categorization helps us develop the capacity for deeper understanding and more authentic connection.
I’m raising $8000 dollars to pay the team of artists behind this project (the performers, the composer, designers, videographer, and tech team) rental equipment fees and rehearsal space. By supporting this project, you're not just funding a performance; you're investing in a process of collective discovery, artistic risk-taking, and the livelihood of an incredible team of artists.
Thank you for considering this ask, and being part of this cherished artistic community. Please consider donating or sharing with someone that may be able to support this work. Every individual contribution to this project makes it more and more possible for this work to happen in its fullest potential.
Join me in this strange beautiful process!!! Let’s make something happen, together!
