The time has finally come.
In 2019, I learned what top surgery was, and despite identifying as a cis woman at the time, I immediately wanted it. My tits have always felt foreign, vestigial, otiose. In the seven years following this realization, I faced hurdle after hurdle: lack of access to local gender-affirming surgeons, lack of insurance coverage, lack of familial support, lack of community, lack of housing stability, and on and on and on.
And now it's happening: September 28th, 2026. I say, ABOUT DAMN TIME.
Illinois Medicaid will cover the surgery & follow-up appointments, but I will be spending the six weeks post-surgery out of work, so I'm raising funds for baseline living expenses (~1500/mo) and cost of recovery materials.
