Hello and thank you for visiting my page. I'm a 36yr old female that needs help with my diagnosis and treatment of Autism. I struggle on a daily basis due to the fact that I have no health insurance. My mental health is deteriorating at a rapid rate and I quite simply cannot take it any more. This is something that I have been struggling with all my life. However due to the lack of healthcare throughout my life, it has never been truly diagnosed. I have spoken to medical professionals that are willing to help me however as with anything, it all has a price. I am not sure where on the spectrum I fall. I'm relatively sure that I'm not a level 1 which is:
- Level 1 or Classic Autism : (Autistic Disorder): Often involves significant language delays, social challenges, and repetitive behaviors, requiring high support.
I fall somewhere between level 2 and level 3 which are:
- Level 2 or Asperger's Syndrome : Historically used for individuals with higher cognitive abilities but marked challenges in social interaction and specialized interests.
- Level 3 or Pervasive Development Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified : (PDD-NOS): Used when a child met some, but not all, criteria for classic autism, often considered a milder form.
So I am trying really hard to round up as much money as I can so I can get to a specialist to get an actual diagnosis. Any little bit will help. And with any luck, I can finally it all in writing and officially documented.
