This is hard for me to do because asking for help is not easy. Many of you know my sister has been battling end-stage liver disease for a while now with numerous trips to the hospital.The picture I used for this fundraiser was her last trip
to the hospital which resulted in a brain bleed, and because of her illness, her body doesn't make enough white blood cells so she could not be given the course of treatment that should have been used. She is living on borrowed time. The doctor told us if she has a year left to live that would be a lot. She has a son who she is trying her best to live for.
Most recently, their situation has gone from bad to worse. The place she currently rents doesn't have a lease. The landlord has sold the house, and she has 15 days to be out of the house. We have reached out to every agency possible, only to be told there were no funds and nothing they could do. We have even called shelters, but they are either full or her medical conditions do not permit her to stay there. I was able to work with her and find a place they can rent, but unfortunately, she is short for the security deposit after obtaining the first month's rent, and even that required some help. She lives on disability, so funds are very limited. She will need to rent a moving truck and transfer utilities on top of all this.
I know times are tough for everyone, but I am hoping to be able to get people to rally around this family and help them be able to move into a new home together and spend the time they have left as a family. My nephew is so overwhelmed by all of this, and all he wants is to stay with his mom and in his school and have a sense of normalcy. They do not live local to me; they are about 2 hours away. Unfortunately, we do not have much family or people to ask for help, which is why I created this.
They have such little time to secure this money, and I just want to take the overwhelming pressure off my sister. The stress of this is causing her health to decline daily. If it is in your heart to help them, please consider donating to this fundraiser. If you can't donate to them, please pray for them. I know we serve a mighty God, and I am believing He will show up through this situation.
