Hi, my name is Cailyn.
For nearly ten years, I’ve dedicated my career to healthcare while raising my son and putting myself through school. After years of balancing work, motherhood, and education, I recently earned my bachelor’s degree. My next goal is to enroll in an accelerated nursing program and become a Registered Nurse so I can continue building the life I’ve worked so hard to create for my family.
I’ve never been someone who asked for help.
I’ve been on my own since I was 17 years old. I became a mom at 19, divorced by 25, and kept moving forward. While raising my son, I worked full-time, put myself through college, and continued believing that every sacrifice would one day create a better future for us.
That future finally felt within reach.
Then life changed.
I’m currently pregnant and experiencing Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG), a severe pregnancy condition that has leaves me sick almost every day. What many people think is “morning sickness” has meant emergency room visits, daily home IV therapy, weekly home nurse visits, ongoing medical care, and days where even drinking a sip of water or getting out of bed feels impossible. This pregnancy also requires close medical monitoring, making an already difficult journey even more challenging.
At the same time, my biggest source of pride, my son Jonathan, is preparing to graduate high school a full year early at just 16 years old. Watching him achieve something so incredible reminds me why I’ve worked as hard as I have all these years. Now I’m trying to prepare him for college while preparing to welcome another baby into the world.
Like so many hardworking families, I find myself in a place that’s difficult to explain. I work full-time. I pay my bills. I invested in my education because I believed it would change my family’s future. But I also carry student loan debt, make too much to qualify for most assistance programs, and not enough to stop living paycheck to paycheck or create the stability my family needs right now.
One of the hardest parts of this journey is not having the family support that many people can lean on. Since I was 17, I’ve built my life without a safety net. Asking for help is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do because it’s simply not something I’m used to.
But sometimes strength also means knowing when you can’t carry everything alone.
Today, I’m asking for help, not because I’ve stopped fighting, but because I refuse to let one incredibly difficult season undo nearly two decades of hard work.
Your support will help me:
• Move my family into safe and stable housing.
• Cover pregnancy and HG-related medical expenses.
• Offset lost income while my health limits my ability to work.
• Prepare for my baby’s arrival.
• Continue my education so I can become a Registered Nurse and provide lasting stability for my family.
If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Every donation, every share, and every prayer helps more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read.
With love,
Cailyn, Jonathan & Baby to Come
