Help Dre Winslow – Fighting to Recover
Our hearts are heavy as we reach out for support for someone who has already endured more than any one person should ever go through — Dre Winslow, a devoted father of five and the loving father of my oldest son.
Recently, Dre was the victim of a violent and senseless attack — shot five times by the boyfriend of his soon-to-be ex-wife on his daughter’s birthday! We can’t release anymore information than that because of the ongoing investigation happening. He had to undergo serious procedures to save his life. By the grace of God, he survived. But survival is just the beginning. Dre now faces a long and painful road to physical and emotional recovery.
As if that wasn’t enough, Dre is also grieving the recent loss of one of his children, a tragedy no parent should ever experience. The emotional wounds from that loss are still fresh, and now, layered with the trauma of this attack, Dre is carrying unimaginable pain.
Those who know Dre know that he’s always shown up for his children and his community — never asking for anything in return. Right now, he can’t care for his children or himself the way he wants to — and that’s where we come in.
