Just like most of you, 2022 has started as a very tough year for Pearland Parvo Recovery Center. This year's parvo season is proving to be an extremely tough season here in Houston and the surrounding areas. Along with a tough parvo season, we appear to also more distemper cases than is normal for us which in any year is significant. So, the demand for us at PPRC has been increasing daily.
At the same times things have been hard for all rescues and shelters in this area, PPRC itself has experienced some internal struggles. Between loss of treatment personal during job changes or illnesses and the fact that there are fewer people available to be recovery fosters for the parvo pups, we are struggling to keep the center open. One of the tough breaks PPRC recently experience is the loss of its owner's ability to treat parvo dogs due to visiion complications after cataract surgery. This along with other issues has put the future of PPRC in jeopardy.
This is why we are doing this fundraiser to try to generate the funds needed to hire personnel that will help us keep the center open.
The idea of this fundraiser is not how much you give but that you give and get others to give. We are calling it "One ($1) For Life" because if we can reach 5,000 to 10,000 and get everyone to give between $1 and $5, we can raise enough to hire the personel we need to stay open.
Please help us with this fundraiser. Contribute what you can, share with your friends, and join us as we work to be able to continue the fight to save rescue dogs affected by Parvo.
