My name is Brandy and I am a 43-year-old mother, devoted wife, passionate farmer, and once-proud owner of a thriving business. My life, however, has been dramatically transformed by the ravages of chronic Lyme disease and Mutiple Myeloma. My journey began in 2019 on what I thought would be an ordinary day filled with warmth and laughter. That tranquility was shattered when a large, alarming red circle manifested on my leg, which was initially dismissed by medical professionals as cellulitis.

After enduring the first round of treatment, I experienced a fleeting moment of relief, a glimmer of hope that soon dissipated. The disease insidiously progressed, morphing from what seemed like a manageable condition into an unyielding struggle for my well-being.

Reflecting on my life before Lyme disease, I recall the joy and fulfillment that came with painting old houses, giving them new life and vibrancy. I cherished the hours spent working alongside my husband on our farm, cultivating the land and nurturing our crops, always accompanied by the laughter and innocent joy of our children. Those precious memories, filled with simple pleasures, now feel like distant echoes as Lyme disease has reshaped my daily existence.

As the illness took hold, it ushered in a debilitating array of symptoms: relentless fatigue that drained my energy, joint pain that made even the simplest tasks feel insurmountable, and cognitive fog that clouded my thoughts. Each day became a testament to resilience, as I fought to reclaim pieces of the life I once lived, navigating a world that had become increasingly challenging and unfamiliar.

Throughout the extensive series of tests and treatments, the medical team uncovered far more serious issues than I initially anticipated. The M protein, which I thought was a minor concern, turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg. Little did I know that I was on the verge of a profound revelation. After enduring countless tests—including blood work, bone marrow biopsies, X-rays, and a plethora of other examinations—I was preparing myself to face what I had assumed would be manageable health challenges like Lyme disease.

However, as I sat in the doctor's office, I was about to receive life-altering news. The diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma was delivered with a gravity I couldn't fully comprehend at that moment. It was a definitive turning point, one that would forever reshape my life and health journey. The implications of this diagnosis would lead me down a path filled with new treatments, uncertainties, and revelations about my own resilience.

I face daily physical challenges such as intense back and joint pain, debilitating fatigue, nerve issues, and breathing difficulties, which have left me reliant on a cane for mobility and unable to engage in the activities I once loved.

Cognitively and emotionally, I struggle with memory lapses, confusion, and feelings of depression and anger. My medical journey has involved numerous specialists, yet relief remains elusive. I’ve been diagnosed with conditions like Monoclonal Gammopathy of Undetermined Significance (MGUS), which has progressed to  Multiple Myeloma (MM), along with collapsed lung segments, heart irregularities, and bladder dysfunction attributed to chronic Lyme disease.

**Recent Developments:**

- **Heart and Lung Impact:** The disease has caused an electrical delay in my heart, a small hole affecting circulation, and compromised 25% of my lung capacity.

- **Daily Life:** Each day is unpredictable, with symptoms ranging from sudden bladder control loss to disorientation. The pain is relentless, and I strive to maintain normalcy for my family while battling exhaustion internally.

**Diagnoses:**

1. **Multiple Myeloma (MM):**
   - **Stage:** Revised International Staging System (R-ISS) Stage III, due to high-risk cytogenetic abnormalities and clinical criteria.
   - **Features:** Includes elevated lambda free light chains, Bence Jones protein in urine, and evidence of active disease.

2. **Chronic Lyme Disease:**
   - **Symptoms:** Include neurological issues (numbness, memory loss), physical manifestations (fatigue, body aches), and organ-specific complaints (heart and lung issues).

- **Spine Issues:** Degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis causing chronic pain.
- **Cardiac/Pulmonary Findings:** High blood pressure and irregular heartbeat linked to Lyme disease.
- **Vitamin C Deficiency:** A separate concern affecting overall health and immune function.

Summary:

currently managing two serious and complex health conditions: a high-risk form of Multiple Myeloma and chronic Lyme disease. Each of these conditions carries its own set of challenges, with symptoms that can often overlap, complicating both diagnosis and treatment.

Multiple Myeloma, a type of cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow, is particularly concerning due to the presence of high-risk cytogenetic abnormalities. This means that the disease is more aggressive and may require intensive treatment strategies, which could include chemotherapy, targeted therapies, or even stem cell transplantation, depending on the specifics of your case.

On the other hand, chronic Lyme disease stems from a prolonged infection with the Borrelia bacteria, which can lead to a wide range of symptoms affecting various body systems. This can include fatigue, joint pain, neurological issues, and autoimmune reactions. Managing chronic Lyme disease often involves a comprehensive approach that may include antibiotic therapies, lifestyle modifications, and symptomatic treatments to alleviate discomfort and improve quality of life.

Your Support:

The financial burden associated with my illness has become increasingly overwhelming, especially as I struggle with the inability to work and earn a living as I once did. The costs of treatments, medications, and specialized physical assistance furniture are significant and add to this stress. Additionally, many experimental therapies and consultations with specialists are not covered by insurance, leaving me with difficult choices to make.

Your generous donation could play a vital role in alleviating this financial strain. It would enable me to access necessary treatments that can help manage my condition more effectively and improve my overall quality of life. More importantly, it would help me reclaim precious moments of joy and spend quality time with my family, which means so much to me during this challenging time.

I urge you to consider supporting my journey. This fight is not just about survival; it’s about striving for a semblance of the life I had before this illness took hold. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings me one step closer to regaining the happiness I once knew, creating new memories, and hopefully finding a clearer path through this complex journey.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering the impact of your support on my life. Your kindness means the world to me.
