I was just beginning to regain my strength after welcoming two beautiful children into the world. But then, my back gave out—a T12 wedge compression fracture—leaving me unable to return to work. Amongst battling Cervical Kyphosis which has been the cause of long-term migraines, pain, neck/shoulder issues from childhood trauma.
Just when I thought things couldn't get more challenging ..Our world was shaken when my 11 month old son was diagnosed with Reflex Myoclonic Epilepsy. Further visits revealed more concerning issues: a heart murmur suggesting possible heart enlargement, a high palette arch, head lag, immature brain myelination, among others. Now we have found a possible genetic/metabolic mutation that without treatment, could be life threatening. These critical aspects of his health were overlooked for far too long, and now we are racing against time to heal the damage that has affected not only him but also our family, including his two-year-old sister, Milani who considering the genetic aspect is at risk of also being affected in a more mild form.
We are buried under a mountain of doctor appointments and tests needed to uncover the true root of his seizures— at one time he was experiencing up to 15 two-to-three-second seizures a day. With medication administered five times daily, the number might have reduced, but this solution is far from over, as the seizures are supposed to stop completely. Ive had to watch my baby boy turn into a drooling zombie after having to take 2 different types of Benzos along side of Keppra, in which neither have stopped the seizures. Through it all, my deepest wish is simply to care for my babies and to see them thrive. In these trying times, we need your help. Your donations could provide invaluable support as we navigate this path littered with medical appointments and expenses. Every dollar you contribute helps ease the burden and brings us closer to the answers and care my son so desperately needs.. I am more then willing to share my story of answer any questions. Even 2 dollars could make a worlds difference. . Your generosity could be the turning point in our struggle and the hope we cling to. Thank you for your compassion and support.
