Hi, I’m Gary Spinrad.
I’m one of the original sound designers on Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Black Ops—yeah, the Zombies games. Some of you also know me as the guy who helped 88-year-old Linda Thomas take her house back from a squatter. (We won.)
Right now, though, I’m fighting my own battle. Finding work in the game industry has become damn near impossible, and even basic jobs are hard to land. So I’m pivoting—using my skills in sound design, production, and live entertainment to build something new.
It’s called Ghost Squadron—a drone light show startup built from scratch. We’re not just putting lights in the sky—we’re telling stories, honoring history, and doing it all with humor, heart, and a whole lot of punk-rock grit. But getting this off the ground—literally—requires help.
I’m raising funds to cover equipment, safety gear, travel costs, and licensing. Every dollar helps me get closer to turning this dream into a reality.
If you’ve ever enjoyed my work, laughed at an absurd show, or believed in second chances—this is that moment.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for caring.
—Gary
