Hello everyone! My name is Erys Anderson. I am 21 years old and I have been struggling to find and hold a job for the last 5 years. I am currently going through the process of getting mental health disability , as I have been struggling with mental health for the last 10 years, and only recently have I gotten some help with it. I have been in therapy for 2 years now. I have tried group counseling, taking daily medications, I have tried a lot. I heard a while back that you can get an ESA - Emotional Support Animal. My friend told me that ball python snakes are extremely therapeutic, and I would love to get one to help me with my mental struggles. I believe that if I have another living, breathing thing in my care I will have to do my utmost best to give it the care it needs. I have kept fish, and it just... wasn't the same. I have 2 cats, an orange cat named Fennekin and a brown Maine Coon mix named Charmander. Despite having these two cats, I do not live alone and so I am not their primary care-taker. If I were to get this snake - in which the owner of the local petstore I went to is selling for $100 (this does not include a tank, decoration, and food for the snake) - I think I would feel better about my mental health and my struggles. I truly do believe that if I were to get one of these ball pythons, and register them as an ESA, I would feel whole. Ever since I was little, I have always loved snakes. I would go check our yard with my dad under pieces of wood, metal, rocks, anything we could find - just to find a snake to catch and hold. My dad's work would hold these things called "company picnics", and his work would have this animal show guy come to the picnic and kids would volunteer to go up and hold a part of a large snake. I got selected multiple times, and had an absolute blast. I have done as much research as my brain can handle on both hognoses and ball pythons. I am not going into this blind, and once I can get on my feet again I will be able to fully care for this animal. I simply just need a small bit of help to get started on healing, and getting back on my feet.
Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have a wonderful day or night.
