On January 9th, 2023, my world as I knew it completely changed. I was admitted from the ER into the hospital for an emergency hysterectomy due to a 17 cm mass on my ovary that had ruptured and was causing severe abdominal pain to the point where I couldn't even breath without sharp pain. Then came the cancer diagnosis. I was devastated, worried about how I was going to pay for the piling medical bills and also losing my ability to work as hard or often as a dog groomer due to medical appts and being physically weaker and fatigued.
I have struggled and keep fighting to go to chemo on a weekly basis while still working, but I am now falling behind on my monthly bills and paying my medical bills. In addition to the stress of the bills, my medical insurance thought it was a good idea to more than quadruple the original quote for my premium, leaving my husband unable to save up to move me from Illinois to Montana at the end of September.
I stayed in Illinois to receive treatment asap so that what I would have to go through was more likely to provide a curative effect. Now I'm asking for help to settle these lingering affairs and move closer to my family and be with my husband before the snow starts falling.
