Hello, my name is Mirian, and today, with great humility, I am asking for the help of anyone who is able to support my family.
It has been 4 years since I have been able to see my family in Colombia. During all this time, being so far away has been very difficult for me, especially because I have not been able to be with my parents or support them the way I would like to.
My parents live in Colombia, and on August 10, 2026, a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the country, leaving many families facing damage and losses.
Our family was also affected. My parents’ home suffered damage in different areas, including the kitchen, living room, bedrooms, basement, patio, and stairs. Cracks and other damage also appeared throughout the house, which worries us deeply because we are concerned about the safety of my parents and the possibility that the damage could continue to worsen.
My parents do not have the financial resources needed to repair their home. I live in the United States, and I wish I could take care of everything for them, but I also do not have the financial ability to cover all the repair costs on my own.
As a daughter, it is heartbreaking to be so far away, to have gone four years without being able to hug my parents, and now to know that they are going through this difficult situation. It hurts to feel that I cannot physically be there to help and protect them the way I wish I could. That is why I decided to start this fundraiser and ask for help.
Our goal is to raise funds to repair the damaged areas of the house, reinforce the parts that need it, and help my parents feel safe in their own home again.
