Hi, my name is Aly Wick, and I’m from Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
I am fundraising for my dear friend Rami, a 25-year-old pharmacist from Gaza, so he can feed himself and his family during the famine his community is facing.
Rami’s family consists of eight people — his mother (who lives with hypertension), his father, his older brother and sister-in-law and their two small children (ages 2 and 3), his younger brother, and Rami himself. They are all displaced, hungry, and struggling to survive under conditions no family should endure.
Below are Rami’s own words:
“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Rami Qouta. I have dedicated my life to pursuing a dream. I completed 12 years of schooling and began studying at the College of Pharmacy in 2018.
For years, I balanced studying, working in labs, sleepless nights, and managing university fees that were beyond my father’s financial capacity.
I welcomed the year 2023 with such anticipation. As you can see in the picture above, it was supposed to be the year of my graduation — the beginning of a new chapter.
My graduation was a moment of joy. I felt excited, ambitious, and ready to serve my community as a pharmacist.
A few months later, war broke out in Gaza City.
My dreams slowly turned to ashes. I went from being a pharmacist to a homeless person, waiting for an uncertain future after losing my childhood home.
I left everything behind and fled south, hoping simply to stay alive.”
Life here has become unbearably difficult.
Every single item — from a tent to a spoonful of food — carries immense value. Words cannot describe the exhaustion we feel. Even if the war were to end today, I feel nearly destroyed.
I thank everyone who reads my message.
I am here hoping to collect an amount that will help bring life back into my soul."

Rami is a brilliant young man who earned his degree with years of hard work and sacrifice. He should be beginning his career — not fighting to keep his family fed.
Right now, they are facing severe hunger, displacement, and the collapse of every system that once supported daily life. Your support helps provide:
-
🍞 Food and bread
-
💧 Clean water
-
🛖 Emergency shelter materials
-
🍼 Supplies for his two toddler nephews
-
💊 Medication for his mother
-
🧣 Clothing, blankets, and basic necessities
Even the smallest donation makes a genuine difference for this family.
