Hi, my name is Tory Deluhery and I am Miss Green Mountains 2022! I have been involved with the Miss America Organization for the past 10 years and they have already made such a large impact on my life.
Many people don't know that Miss America is the world's largest scholarship provider for young women awarding over 5 million dollars annually to over 6,000 candidates. And personally, if I was to win Miss Vermont this April the scholarship dollars won would cover the rest of my college debt! I'm sure you know what a big deal it is to be DEBT FREE!
Though Miss America offers women so much more than just scholarships but an opportunity to hone interview skills, onstage talent, make life long friendships, and of course promote our social impact initiatives. My initiative is sexual assault education and I have a published safety guidebook and created school programming to teach consent and safety to students. I have collected donations for local women's shelters, spoken with my political representatives, held interviews and been interviewed, and promote and teach all of my lessons on social media as well @sixthsensedefense. I am also currently working with an expert to get better police training for debriefing sexual assualt victims. Miss America has provided me with lifelong public speaking skills to be able to share these issues in my community as well as resources to be able to reach larger audiences.
However, Miss America is a non-profit organization that relies on sponsors, volunteers, and donations to keep it alive and running.
