Imagine being a child whose only meal is bread for days on end. Or imagine being the parents who give the child their portion and go without food themselves.
This is the emergency faced by families in the Gaza Strip, where years of military bombardment and a blockade keeping Palestinians from leaving their battered region have devastated the people living there.
Right now, about 70% of Gazans are unemployed and 61% struggle to keep themselves fed. While they're eager to work and take care of their families, the current political situation has made that all but impossible for many.
The ravages of food insecurity are easy to see in the Gazan village of Khuza'a, where about 15,000 people live in abject poverty. Many are elderly and unable to work, while others struggle with an epidemic of blindness that has haunted the village for generations.
One villager, a 26-year old woman who has lived in Khuza'a for her entire life, has decided to fight for her family and her community. Nana, who has three young children, is determined to make food available to everyone in the village. She doesn't have the means to pay for it -- in fact, she has no money at all -- but she is willing to fight.
Help Nana feed the children of Khuza'a' with a donation to her cause. No child should should ever go hungry, and with your contribution, they won't.
