At Sarajevo Stables, we believe every hoofbeat tells a story — and mine is just beginning. I’m writing to ask for your support as I take the next big step in my equestrian journey: joining the Sarajevo Show Program as an adult amateur rider.
For as long as I can remember, horses have held a special place in my heart. But it wasn’t until July 2024 that I officially began taking lessons and discovered what it truly meant to connect with a horse — from grooming to groundwork, from riding to responsibility. By September, I began leasing my heart horse, Gold, and quickly found myself spending more and more time at the barn.
Soon, I was volunteering multiple nights a week, mentoring younger students through our Leaders in Training program — helping to guide, support, and keep everyone on track during their lessons. In January 2025, I took on the lease of a second horse, one needing conditioning, and under the guidance of our barn leaders, I began learning what it meant to help a horse grow stronger, healthier, and more confident.
My desire to learn didn’t stop there. I began assisting our lead trainer — preparing horses for training sessions and soaking up every lesson she shared with me. Her patience and generosity helped me realize something life-changing: I wanted to learn to train and teach, not just ride.
I’ve competed in all of our in-house barn shows, even placing in several of my classes. But my dream has always been to show at a higher level — and now, through Sarajevo’s Show Program, that dream is finally within reach.
Joining the program is a one-year commitment, with tryouts in the fall and shows throughout the year. It requires dedication, consistency, and financial support. Monthly expenses include a show horse lease ($550), lessons ($200–$400), and farrier costs ($200 every 6–8 weeks). Show-related expenses vary and include travel, lodging, stabling, feed, class entry fees, and more.
Participating in the show program would be more than just riding in a ring — it would be the culmination of a journey that began when I was five years old, watching horses with stars in my eyes, dreaming of one day riding among them. Now at 31, I’m finally making that dream real — and I’m reaching out to ask if you would consider helping me continue this incredible chapter.
