***I've had to raise the goal amount. I was able to speak with a representative of a van company. They stated I would need at least $25,000 to $30,000 to be able to get a base model van at a reasonable monthly note.***

Hey everyone!

Maddie is a 12-year-old girl diagnosed with Schizencephaly at 13 months old. What is this you may ask? Schizencephaly is a rare brain malformation that affects Maddie’s motor skills. She is unable to walk or verbally communicate, which leaves her in a motorized wheelchair anywhere she goes. She’s bright, adventurous, outgoing and above all a ray of sunshine who brings light everywhere she goes!

For the last few months, her favorite hobbies to do outside of her home have come to a halt due to lack of transportation. We are asking for donations to go towards a wheelchair van for Maddie. We have had some issues being able to transport her wheelchair on a lift due to her wheelchair being motorized, and even with a cover, with weather permitting, her wheelchair is at risk of being damaged. The vehicle that has the wheelchair lift attached is no longer serviceable, which is why we are asking you for help! Thankfully I have a car that was passed down to me, but I am unable to attach the lift and I am unable to transport Maddie safely in this vehicle. Ultimately it leaves Maddie only being able to go to school and home.

Maddie is newly apart of the Doyle High Schools Junior High Cheerleading Team! We continue trying to keep her active in our community, as well as keeping her feeling like a normal everyday teenage girl who wants to live out her dreams of doing what all teenage girls like to do. Such as, shopping with friends, going to baseball games, performing in pageants, spending time with her family, attending school events and going out to dinner. These are all things Maddie enjoys doing, and with your donations, we hope to get her back to being able to do these things! With Maddie’s diagnosis, not only does it prevent her from doing her favorite things, it also halts being able to take Maddie to her routine and regular Doctor’s appointments, which are vital in her diagnosis. We’ve had to cancel a few appointments due to being unable to bring her wheelchair, as well as being unable to carry her for lengthy amounts of time around the hospital.

No donation is too small! With your help, Maddie can continue to receive her medical care, as well as getting her on the road to living out her teenage dream!
