Me and my Fiancee have been in a battle to save the roof over our heads for over a year. Every single time we tried to do what we were told by the lender made things worse and they refused to take a mortgage payment even though we were trying to not get more in a hole with back payments.. it went from needing $ 10,000 thousand dollars to reinstate the loan to now somehow with all the fees and interest ballooned to $ 140 thousand 😳
That's downright criminal.
The other issue is the original loan is an FHA renovation loan which is included in the loan but finding a 203k contractor has been literally impossible.. I finally found one that would agree to do the work and the FHA people involved with the mortgage company said they can't approve that person because they have a bad track record of completing jobs in a timely manner !! I'm like if that's the case why does that contractor still have a 203k license!! They don't care and have done everything in their power to put roadblock after roadblock to steal the equity and value of this property. We were told they couldn't take any payments till the forbearance was lifted and the construction was done.. then when the Forbearance was over with they immediately started Foreclosure proceedings 😠..
This house is all we have.. we have no place to go if we lose it, we have 3 amazing dogs that I would rather be living in a tent or my car than ever get rid of them.. dogs are family to me and are with me for life no matter what. I ask with all my heart and soul for help .. even a dollar I will be eternally grateful.. I wound up finding a lawyer that will help us.. but he needs a retainer of $2500 dollars and then we'd make payments to him. I just started working again so I am completely broke till I get my first paycheck which won't be for a few more weeks. My fiancee Bill works Hvac and does make decent money usually but winter was not great for his job and his hours were way less than what they are in the summertime, so $2500 dollars is alot of money to us right now and impossible to scrounge up when we are living paycheck to paycheck. It humbles me to beg people for help and makes me feel awful but time is not on our side or I would just say let's sell stuff and save enough for the retainer but the lender has a sheriff sale scheduled for June 17th .. and the lawyer needs to get paperwork in sooner rather than later to get the ball rolling and help us save the roof over our heads .. please know I will pay it forward every chance I get if someone helped us.

I found a lawyer that will work with us so we need a smaller amount to start the paperwork and proceedings to stop foreclosure.
