My name is Ashley, and I'm reaching out to share a part of our journey that's been incredibly challenging and deeply personal. My daughter, Isabella, who just turned 15, is navigating a serious legal situation. In August 2024, Isabella faced charges in Butler County, Kansas, linked to an incident from September 2023. From day one, she's stood firm in her innocence. As her mother, I'm unwavering in my commitment to ensure she gets a fair chance to defend herself. After nearly a year caught in the appeals process, we finally learned in March 2026 that her case will go forward in juvenile court. However, the state has since appealed this decision to the Kansas Supreme Court, leaving us in limbo until they resume reviews later in the year.
I've been consulting several attorneys skilled in juvenile law, where most quoted retainers between $70,000 and $80,000, pushing the total cost even higher. Thankfully, I found a dedicated attorney willing to represent Isabella for a flat fee of around $40,000. This is significantly more attainable but still beyond what I can manage on my own, even working as hard as possible. Presently, Isabella has a court-appointed attorney, and while I'm grateful, I believe the complexity and gravity of the situation require the bespoke attention only private counsel can offer. Every young person deserves to present their truth fully and fairly.
These legal battles mean I must limit what I can disclose publicly, especially since this involves an ongoing case with a minor. However, I am open to providing verification or documentation to serious supporters. Any contribution will directly support legal fees and related costs. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can offer. Your kindness truly makes an impact in our fight for justice.
