In Loving Memory of Jeff Humbert

With heavy hearts, we share the sudden and tragic loss of Jeff Humbert — a devoted husband, loving father, and deeply cherished member of our community. On April 29th, Jeff was involved in a devastating airplane accident that left him with critical burn injuries. After a courageous battle for his life at the UC Davis Burn Center, Jeff passed away, surrounded by his family. In his passing, Jeff gave the ultimate gift — the gift of life — as an organ donor.

Jeff leaves behind his beloved wife, Stephanie, and their five-year-old daughter, Amelia. Stephanie is also currently 10 weeks pregnant with their second child. The road ahead for this young family is overwhelming — emotionally, personally, and financially.

Jeff had an unforgettable presence. His passion for flying was only matched by his love for his family. He spent his life chasing dreams and clouds, and eventually achieved both — building a ranch and becoming a pilot. He was a hard worker, a man of deep faith, and someone who made everyone feel welcome. Jeff and Stephanie met while leading worship at the Good News Rescue Mission and were just months away from celebrating 15 beautiful years of marriage.

A graduate of Simpson University and a former basketball player, Jeff was rooted in his North State community. His home was the heart of family gatherings — filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He made a mark wherever he went — from his work alongside his father to his ministry in the community, and most importantly, in the lives of his wife and daughter.

Now, in the wake of this unimaginable loss, we are rallying to support Jeff’s family. As the primary provider, Jeff’s absence leaves Stephanie and the kids facing large medical expenses, funeral costs, and daily living expenses — all while trying to grieve and heal.
