I prayed that I would never be in this position, but here I am. My beautiful 3y/o Paulo (Apollo) was crying in pain this morning, throwing up and spot urinating. No vets around here have same day appointments so it had to be an emergency vet we had to see.
My husband’s work cut hours to 32/wk from 48/wk. so our income has gone down $1,000/mo. Our water heater broke at the same time our roof sprung a leak. Our furnace keeps going out as well. We have worked hard through God’s grace and generosity from friends have attended to all but our furnace.
You ever get the feeling that something keeps pushing your head under water every time you fight hard to make it up to catch a breath of air? That is how I have felt lately. I thought we could catch a breath and work on saving for a breaking down furnace but our sweet Paulo is I’ll and we have no money to save him.
The vet says he has many bladder stones and several already down in his urethra blocking his urine. He also has an underlying infection. He needs emergency surgery to fix this and it will cost between $3,500-$4,500 to fix. Without this he will die.
We rescued our Paulo from a man who abused him. We have worked with him on his fear of men, anxiety and generalized fear of strangers. He is the sweetest most loving dog. Our other dog Lola has been watching intently out the window for him. She does not understand why he is not home.
If anyone is in a position where they can help us save Paulo, it would mean the world to us. Our vets office says they cannot take called in partial payments so I will set something up. I promise ALL donations will 100% go towards Paulo’s care.
