My name is Michelle, a 47-year-old single mom who has lived in this country for over 20 years. I’ve raised my daughter on my own for 14 years. Sadly, since our divorce in 2020, her father—an ex-law enforcement officer and convicted felon—has used the legal system to alienate my daughter from me, taking full custody and cutting all communication between us.
Despite his history of domestic violence and fraudulent actions, the court granted him everything in our divorce due to his connections, leaving me to struggle with overwhelming debts he created under my name.
