The New Orleans community has been hit hard by Hurricane Ida. As the city and community work to repair and rebuild, we need the world's support.
Super Bowl Champion Leonard Fournette will be donating to several charities that are supporting relief efforts to provide his beloved city and its families, children and vulnerable individuals with basic necessities (i.e. food, water, clothing, blankets, medical supplies, and more) and to rebuild homes that have been damaged.
Please join him in this effort to support New Orleans as all donations are tax deductible and will be equally split between the following charities:
- All Hands and Hearts’ mission is to address the immediate and long-term needs of communities impacted by natural disasters. The team on the ground will work to assess the situation, respond immediately and launch a program of volunteers and staff to work on the following: chainsaw work, roof tarping, mucking and gutting, and mold sanitizing. They will also determine the needs for longer-term recovery including rebuilding homes.
- Cajun Navy Relief, a registered 501(c)3 organization, is an integrated civilian volunteer force that conducts non-critical rescues and relief efforts in response to natural disasters. Cajun Navy Relief volunteers work tirelessly without pay, often using their own personal equipment. Cajun Navy Relief was founded in 2016. While boat rescues remain a cornerstone of their work, the organization has additionally evolved to play a more prominent role as a hub for organizing and mobilizing resources, including during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Direct Relief has committed an initial $1 million in financial resources and has made available its $100+ million inventories for any medicine, medical supplies, and other emergency aid center requested by health clinics, emergency shelters, and state and local emergency response agencies in areas affected by Hurricane Ida. Two days following landfall in New Orleans, Direct Relief provided emergency shipments of antibiotics, chronic disease medicines, OTC products, and Tdap vaccines to healthcare facilities throughout Louisiana. More deliveries will follow throughout impacted areas as Hurricane Ida recovery continues.
- SBP's mission is to shrink the time between disaster and recovery. Founded in 2006 after Katrina, SBP is headquartered in New Orleans and has rebuilt homes for more than 3,600 families. SBP is committed to leading long-term recovery in the Ida-impacted region.
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans leads the fight against hunger in South Louisiana by providing food access, advocacy, education, and disaster response. They are responding to yet another disaster to hit New Orleans and South Louisiana. Every $1 helps provide 4 disaster meals to Hurricane Ida survivors.
