Michael J. “Shorty” Samples, 41, of Erie, died Saturday, January 6, 2024 at his home. He was born in Erie on January 4, 1983, the son of the late Emory “Skeeter” Wolf and Jeanie Samples Burnett.

Mike graduated from General McLane High School in the class of 2002.

Mike was a long term valued employee of Contemporary Motorcar in Erie. He began his long service at the dealership as a lot attendant and rose to achieving great success as a sales associate fully certified by Mercedes-Benz and Acura. He had many friends at work and will be greatly missed by everyone, in particular his many very loyal customers that he built relationships with over his career. His wonderful sense of humor combined with his caring personality made him one of the top salespeople in the organization.

He enjoyed skateboarding, golf, playing drums, traveling to New York City with Morgan, and spending time with their loving Corgi’s, Lola and Hudson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Morgan Lockwood; a brother, Matthew A. Samples of Mercer, PA; his maternal grandmother, Dee Samples, of Fairview; an aunt, Barb (Al) Diehl of Girard; two uncles; John (Debbie) Samples of Fairview and James Samples of Meadville; and cousins, Aaron and Adam Diehl, Benjamin, Anita, Alex and Dylan Samples; Also, Morgan’s parents, Michael Lockwood and Gayle Lichtinger.

Friends may call at the Glunt Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 210 Erie Street, Edinboro, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
