On Sunday, March 15th, Austan was in a motorcycle accident on his way to church. He sustained significant injuries including: a shattered pelvis, broken hip, collapsed lung, broken ribs, and a large perineal laceration. He is in a great deal of pain most of the time given that there is currently a national drug shortage specifically effecting the medicines he is needing. Luckily, he did not sustain head injuries or any damage to his organs, however he does temporarily have an ostomy due to the laceration. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him and will likely be in the hospital for a good while.
We wanted to set this fund up to cover any potential outstanding medical bills, costs of getting the house prepped for him, and for care once he is eventually able to come home. Any little bit helps and everything is greatly appreciated. Luckily, he is still in good spirits and has maintained a positive outlook as much as someone can in a situation like this. Austan is surrounded by so much love and support and we are all incredibly grateful to still have him here with us.
