Mike and I have been blessed with baby #2 on the way(rainbow baby) Our first labor experience was traumatic and unexpected to say the least. We both had decided on choosing what was best for us as a family and for the health of this child. However, midwifery can be a little pricey upfront. Regardless of the cost, we choose to have a family/mother and child centered care rather than what the "usual" practice for a mother bearing a child. Having a midwife that considers our expectations and wishes is far more important than gifts that can be given. This time around, we are asking for the money used to buy gifts and diapers to be put towards paying for a midwife. The expectation for reimbursing the midwife is to be paid in full by 36 weeks. As of March 22nd, 2022, I am about 22 weeks along. Which leaves 14 weeks to have the midwife paid for. We are very grateful either  way whether your gift is physical or financial.
