Many are aware of the passing of our loved one, Gilbert Meacham on August 22, 2023. He was, and is, loved by many and missed by all. Gil was diagnosed with an advanced liver failure, and cancer in very early July 2023. This came as a shock to him, and all of his family and friends.
Gilbert was diligent about his doctors check ups, but unfortunately his doctor missed this very crucial diagnoses, despite his diligence and efforts to feel well again.
Since Gilbert was loved by many, we (the family) would love to put on a service for him for closure…
Unfortunately, Gil did not have life insurance, and with his sudden passing there are a lot of unforeseen expenses left for his surviving family members to pay for. These circumstances have made it necessary to put the memorial service planning on hold until we can afford the service that Gil deserves.
These expenses include: memorial service, medical supplies paid for out of pocket by his kids to keep Gilbert comfortable/home for as long as possible, essential ambulance transfers, etc. all of which were not covered by insurance.
Our goal was to keep Gilbert in his home around his family as long as possible, and while we succeeded with this goal, we now must accumulate the funds to put on the service.
We are not a family who often asks for hand outs, however, If anyone feels so inclined to donate to the family, (Melissa—his daughter the handler of the memorial finances and planning) the donations will 100% be used for Gil’s memorial service, otherwise medical bills that accumulated during his time in the hospital etc.
We thank you tremendously for all the love, kind words, prayers, donations, etc in advance and we hope to have a memorial service date planned very soon so that we can all begin the true grieving process.
