SHAME! APTP JUST FIRED TWO PRO-UNION WORKERS WHILE PROMOTING ANTI-UNION WORKERS.
APTP also fired a union member in December; let go a young, Black contractor who supported the union; and made conditions so bad for another worker that they were forced to quit.
Make no mistake: this is a PURGE. It’s how corporate union busters often defeat union organizing campaigns. We are worried that management will fire the remaining union members soon. We are facing the very real possibility that we will officially win our union election but there won’t be any union members left.
APTP fired these workers with only 5 days left before they lose healthcare coverage. Some of the people targeted are disabled, living paycheck to paycheck, with urgent financial needs and medical conditions.
One of the people fired is the same Black disabled worker who was denied reasonable accommodations during our union election — after suffering a seizure and fainting twice at work in front of APTP directors.
This is the opposite of healing justice. Combined we’ve given decades of service to this organization. We’re ashamed and embarrassed that an organization that claims to be part of the movement is eliminating vital programs and throwing away cherished staff and community members just because we wanted protection from being fired at will without cause or notice.
We need your help:
- DONATE to support our fired comrades in need!
- TAKE ACTION! Send an email to: cat@justiceteams.org. Demand that APTP reinstate all fired workers and start bargaining with our union immediately!
