On Saturday, February 7th, our lives changed in an instant. Ben, just 36 years old, suffered a catastrophic medical emergency and was life-flighted to St. Vincent’s in Toledo.
Doctors discovered that Ben had a massive stroke and a significant brain bleed, which caused a dangerous midline shift in his brain. Currently, Ben is in the ICU on a ventilator. We are facing a long road of unknowns—we don’t yet know when he will be able to breathe on his own, the full extent of the damage, or what his recovery journey will look like.
A Family in Crisis
While Ben fights for his life, the family is facing a "perfect storm" of challenges:
Medical Care: Ben’s recovery will likely require long-term intensive care and rehabilitation.
Double Medical Burden: Ben’s wife is scheduled for her own necessary surgery this Thursday, leaving both parents physically unable to work or care for their home.
Four Children: Ben is a devoted father to four beautiful kids who need our support and stability while their parents focus on healing.
How You Can Help
With both parents out of work, the financial strain is mounting daily. We are reaching out to our community to help ease the burden so the family can focus entirely on Ben’s recovery and the kids' well-being.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Travel: Fuel so they can be in Toledo by Ben’s side.
Medical Bills: Covering the mounting costs of life-flight, ICU care, and upcoming surgeries. Above what insurance will cover.
Daily Essentials: Ensuring the four children are cared for and the household stays afloat during this crisis.
Even if you cannot donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Ben, his wife, and their children in your thoughts and prayers. Every bit of support reminds this family that they aren't fighting this battle alone.
