Hi Everyone, this is Auntie Kayla preparing this page for our family and our beloved Raiden Richard.
There are truly no words to appropriately convey this tremendous tragedy. On Tuesday, an accident occurred while Raiden was at daycare. He was transported to Children’s hospital where he has been receiving the best care. It was determined early on Wednesday that Raiden’s neurological function would not be viable for life. Blake and Christy have made the difficult decision, with the support of their families, to preserve Raiden’s organs for donation with the hopes of saving another life.
Raiden is a strong, smart, silly boy. He had just learned how to go down the slides with his big sister Tegan. He was learning new words and phrases like “uh oh! Where’d it go?!” And “kitty cat” and “thank you” when he was given his favorite cup. He belly laughed at the silliest things and never left you hanging for a round of peek a boo.
Nobody and nothing prepares you to experience the loss of your child. At just 20 months old, the plans for Raiden were what toys would be on his Christmas list and what size clothes he would be in next. Instead, Blake and Christy, along with our families will plan a funeral for him. With no existing preparation, we are asking for any help for Blake and Christy. Any and all amount will go to sweet baby Raiden’s services and any other financial needs they may have. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
