Through my work with a summer High School Mentorship Program, I had the privilege of meeting Rihanna Myrie—a remarkable young woman whose resilience and determination have carried her through extraordinary challenges to earn her place at the University of Buffalo this fall.
Rihanna's story is one of triumph over adversity. Despite facing a lifetime of obstacles and currently living in a residential facility for homeless teens, she has refused to let circumstances define her future. Now, as she prepares to take this monumental step toward her dreams, she faces a new challenge: starting college with virtually no resources.
Without family support, Rihanna lacks the fundamental tools every college student needs to succeed—a laptop for coursework, basic dorm essentials, and academic supplies. A group of us are eager to set her up for success and have created this campaign where proceeds will support giving her the best chance to be successful!
