I never imagined Iād be here againāwatching my baby girl through monitors instead of holding her at home.
On April 15th, I had an emergency C-section due to severe preeclampsia. I ended up in the ICU for two days, fighting to stabilize my blood pressure. At the same time, my baby girl came into the world 5 weeks early, weighing just 4 lbs 5.7 oz.
Sheās in the NICU now, learning how to do all the things full-term babies do naturallyākeeping warm, eating enough, growing stronger. She recently needed a feeding tube after a setback, and we donāt know how long this journey will be.
The hardest part?
-Sheās 45 minutes away if there is no traffic, if thereās traffic thatās a different storyā¦.
I have three kids at home. Iām recovering. I canāt work. And every trip to see herāgas, parking, everythingāadds up faster than we can keep up with.
Iāve been here before. I know what it feels like to not be able to get to your baby as much as you need to. I know what that does to a mom. Iām trying so hard not to fall into that place again.
I just want to be with her.
If you can help us get back and forth to the hospital, keep up with bills, or even just share this, it would mean everything to our family.
