August 13th, I rescued Goldilocks in as my legal therapy animal to help cope with chronic pain and PTSD. She is a Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever (Golden Pyrenees) that was found stray as a new mama highly suspected to be used for breeding with her own PTSD from neglect. When she was found, it was absolute her pups were taken too early from her, underweight, had a bloody UTI (medicated when adopting her) and had bald spots from fleas. When adopting her, she had a lump on the under left side of her neck. It was questioned and from the gathered info, it was chalked up to scar tissue. We have an indescribable bond since bringing her home and learning her past and introducing her to being a dog. She's the sweetest, quietest most empathic loving gentle giant if you've had the chance to ever met her.
Goldie went in for an overall check up at a vet outside of the Humane Society and second opinion about a lump on her neck. The lump became the focal point of her appointment. Luckily, it doesn't hurt her but surgery to remove it is advised sooner than later. The in-office biopsy came back with no cells, but not ruling out soft tissue sarcoma. It is very dense, odd-shaped and seems larger since rescuing her 4 months ago.
Goldie has becoming a huge part of my life I never had. She travels with me for work having 2 independent massage therapy locations from Parkersburg, WV to Youngstown, OH; where she accompanies my grandmother that led to the expansion/travel in my hometown.
Goldilocks has created her own circle amongst my clients, family, friends and neighbors. It breaks my heart to accept another hardship in her lifetime and she's only 3 years old. It's been a month full of difficulties after a buck walked in front of my car 2 weeks ago outside of Columbus, OH on the 2 hour journey home from a work flight and over-worked holiday prep season. A couple hours prior, my grandfather passed away after landing. Overall, it's been a very emotionally draining, over exerting few weeks to get ahead of my end of year licensure fees and car expenses. Currently I'm approaching my 2 year mark as a full-time self employed licensed massage therapist in WV and OH, part-time portrait photographer and artist. The typical hard-working 20-something year old business owner. This was honestly the last thing I expected.

12/9/22 Update: Goldie's surgery date is officially scheduled for January 4th at 7:30 am. Words cannot describe how greatful we are for any help received during a difficult time- whether it was a share, donation of any amount, an Etsy order, it truly means the world and hope you all get to meet the sweet bean!
