Life in Colorado Springs has always felt like home, but the past few months have been incredibly challenging. After losing my job and our house during the government shutdown, my pregnant wife, our five kids, and I have been living in a motel. It's been tough trying to keep our family together and secure a stable future for our little ones. Every day, I balance my new job with doing DoorDash deliveries to cover daily motel costs and ensure my kids can continue their education. But the weight of potential homelessness looms heavily over us, and my car is hardly holding up under the strain.
I’m working tirelessly, hunting for a rental property, but doors keep closing because of the recent employment gap. The relentless uncertainty is hard, but watching my kids face this instability is even harder. We need a house to call our own—where the kids can feel safe and secure. Despite everything, we remain grateful for what we have, but I hope someone might find it in their heart to help us rebuild a steady life and keep our family intact.
