❤️ Help Us Get Charlie to Boston ❤️
Last year, my neighbors Rose and her son Charlie were involved in a devastating multi-car accident on the AZ-260. That accident changed their lives forever and left Charlie with a severed pancreas, along with other serious injuries and ongoing medical complications.
Since the accident, Charlie has been through more than any child should ever have to endure. Rose has been by his side every step of the way, doing everything she can to get her son the care he needs.
Just two weeks ago, Charlie had to undergo emergency surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. The surgeons were trying to locate the area of his pancreas that has continued to cause problems.
Unfortunately, because of the extensive scar tissue from his previous surgeries and injuries, the surgeons were unable to find what they needed.
That left Rose and Charlie facing a heartbreaking reality: they need help from specialists outside of Arizona.
Boston may be their next chance to get the specialized medical care Charlie needs.
Getting Charlie to Boston isn't as simple as getting on a plane. There will be travel expenses, lodging, meals, medical-related costs, and the reality of Rose needing to be there with her son every step of the way. Rose has already had to put work aside to care for Charlie and has devoted herself to making sure he gets through this.
That's where our community comes in.
I'm putting together this fundraiser because I believe Rose and Charlie shouldn't have to face this journey alone. They have already been through so much, and now we're asking our community to help give them a chance to get the specialized care they need.
