Posting for a fellow Veteran: Please lend a helping hand. Rent is $750, I try to raise a little extra so they can have food as well.
Bless your heart.
A post from Scott Jensen:
It’s amazing how we judge and assume things about one another and we even go to the extreme of bashing one another to others without having facts. Truth is far from what’s said. Our words don’t just make an impact on one another but our family as well. When I reached out for help veterans reached out to assume and insult. You have no idea what’s really going on. I’m a single dad every day. Brothers and sisters in arms? We are the quickest ones to doubt each other and call one another out. Funny, civilians show more sympathy for us than we do one another. I’ve not even fought to defend myself because I know the person I am. A single dad, raising girls ALONE. Before you beat a brother or sister down get facts or ask them. I don’t even want to say what my situation is but no fault of my own and something unforeseen has me close to being evicted because it’s hard finding help as a single man raising kids alone. People always assume the worst. I’m not and haven’t asked for a handout but a blessing. Don’t be in a vet group when you only doubt vets. Those who actually know me know I have been through hell. If you knew what a woman who didn’t want her kids could truly do to someone who breathes and lives his children you would get it. I don’t play the system either. They will go on long after I am and know I did what I had to for them. Truth is a brutal thing. Honestly I love and hope the very best for all those who served. Don’t be beat down and take insults. It’s 22 a day? We care? It’s easier feeling bad and passing a brother or sister on a bench. Take a deep breath or say something nice when you see them if that makes you feel better. Good people and hard working people who just need a little help and nowhere else to go. The girls and I just need a little help, just like a lot of others. Best to you all brothers and sisters.
