We are here to support animals’ needs during the federal occupation of Minnesota.
See our website at www.ICEHurtsAnimalsTooMN.org to view the services we provide.
We are a team of rescuers, veterinary professionals, animal lovers, and religious professionals who see the need for this work in this place at this time.
Your donation funds essentials for this effort, including vet care, food, litter, treats, enrichment items for animals stuck at home, carriers, meds, prescription food, preventative care meds, enrichment kits with toys and treats, and administrative/tech costs such as translation services and encryption for safety and privacy.
Anyone who has lived with and loved an animal knows how critical these relationships are for our well-being. During a terrifying time when many cannot leave their homes due to fear, and many others risk injury, detainment, and death while trying to protect their neighbors, we are here to help support the animals (and the people who love them) impacted by the ICE presence in Minnesota.
Our hearts shatter to think about how many animals are still hiding behind locked doors, waiting to be found because their human never came home. The ones needing a sanctuary of their own because their human has been deported. The ones needing extra enrichment because it's not safe for their humans to walk them outside. We cannot do everything, but we can provide support to this vulnerable population and give the humans who love them the support they need to continue caring for them. Families belong together, and that includes EVERY member of the family.
We have already been doing this work for weeks, and the expenses have been significant. Your support helps us ensure that we can provide direct, compassionate, and customized care. Some animals are very picky about food or litter, or need prescriptions. Emergency care for animals is expensive. And veterinarians already experience a significantly higher percentage of suicide attempts and completions in the best of times - with the increased stress of working under these conditions, it's important to us that we provide stipends to the skilled doctors providing direct care in the tenderest and most vulnerable of times.
We're seeking funds so that money is not a barrier for us saying YES when someone comes to us for help. Your support helps us extend safety for the animals and the people who love and care for them as long as possible.
