On October 12 my dad woke me up in a panic telling me my mom couldn't breathe. As a nurse I immediately jumped up and ran to her, within minutes we were rushing to the hospital to get her the desperate care she needed.
When we arrived she was gasping for air and only at 78% sao2. Ultimately she needed ICU level care for what we thought was severe pneumonia. The twist is that my mom also has Aplastic Anemia and stage 4 kidney failure for which she is seen back home in Dallas, however, all of this was happening on a vacation 4 hours away. It was determined that she was far too sick and medically complicated for the (amazing) hospital in hot springs so their staff began to work tirelessly on transporting her to Dallas. Unfortunately that transportation was a life flight.
Once in Dallas she was offically diagnosed with two more rare diseases, organizing pneumonia and IGA Nephropathy. Not only will your donation help to keep us above water with the cost of the life flight but it will also help with the new fight we have ahead of us with these diagnoses.
Anything helps and even if you can't donate I thank you for taking the time to hear our story.
