First, I need it to be clear that I do not take lightly that I am asking people for help. I am proud and this will be a bit embarrassing. But as someone who worked in the veterinary industry, I understand how much of a financial burden is placed on people who just want to help their pets live. So many people are forced to decide their pets’ fate due to the expensive cost of the specialists. It’s unfair. Yet, here we are.
My pup NuNu turns 6 on June 27. She has had chronic digestive/gut issues for 2.5 years. With this most recent and most dramatic flare-up, the emergency vet has told me the next step is to see specialists or consider human euthanasia.
I will not let my dog suffer, and I also will not give up on her. Not sure to finances. During my time in the veterinary industry, I saw too many people attempt to have their pet euthanized for ridiculous reasons, and I saw too many people wait way too long.
This please for donations is just a lifeline. The economy is tough. Wallets are tight. Everyone has something to pay for. I am making an attempt to see if we can raise enough money to visit specialists and give them a chance to find out what mystery illness is plaguing my best friend, or if I’ll have to make a decision that many other people make.
I have a special girl, but our situation is not special. A lot of people find themselves here. I’m just giving my girl the one last opportunity she deserves. If you cannot donate, it’s OK.
