For generations, my family has cared for a piece of Florida land that holds more than just acreage — it holds history, memories, and a rare natural feature: a beautiful sinkhole that has remained untouched for decades.
This land has been in my family since 1853, before much of Florida was developed. It represents a slower, quieter version of the state — one that is quickly disappearing.
Today, I am facing a difficult reality.
Due to rising costs and financial strain, I am at risk of losing this property. If sold, it will likely be developed, and this unique natural space could be permanently altered or destroyed.
I have done everything I can to keep it — including opening the land through Hipcamp so others can experience and appreciate its beauty. The support so far has meant a lot, but it hasn’t been enough to secure the future of the property.
I am asking for help to keep this land preserved.
Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Property taxes and legal costs
• Maintenance and conservation efforts
• Buying time to secure long-term protection for the land
My goal is not just to hold onto this property, but to protect it — so that others can continue to experience a piece of Florida that still feels wild and untouched.
If you believe in preserving natural spaces, supporting family land stewardship, or protecting places that can’t be replaced once they’re gone, I would be grateful for your support.
Anyone that donates to save this special place will receive a free night stay at our Hipcamp location that’s been closed down due to the state of the circumstances. We need 30,000 lovely souls to donate $20.00 each.
Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign helps more than you know.
Please help me save this real piece of Florida history. Thank you for being part of keeping this land
