Hi friends & family!
As most of you know I have a big surgery coming up! (It just happens to be on my birthday! The big 2-5!) June 9th. We've got a couple days left until the surgery and I'm a little nervous but overall super excited to finally get it out and hopefully feeling healthy again. The surgery will be about 6 hours-- it is an open abdomen/chest surgery. They will be removing the 12x12inch cyst along with my right ovary and some lymphnodes. Due to some abnormalities and some irregular blood labs.. they will also be doing some cancer imaging. They will biopsy it and hopefully I get good news. There was no cancer found anywhere in my body at the ct scan but the cyst covers a lot of what they can't see so I'm not out of the woods yet. My recovery is going to be around 6 weeks at least. That means during that time I will be out of work & mostly in bed. I will be recovering at home for the most part. The surgery will be done at Methodist hospital. I will be in the palliative/hospice wing.
I was unsure on if I wanted to create this account-- but ultimately decided why not. John will be home for part of the summer and will be taking care of everything financially and around the house. Lucky to have him but being out of work for 6 weeks will still put a dent on finances for me individually so this would just help with any random personal expenses I may need, recovery, food, at home activities when alone etc. would just be nice to not stress about little things here and there while I recover.
I don't have health insurance at the moment-- the hospital is working with me to get it figured out before and after the surgery. So this will also help with those costs if needed!
Thanks for taking the time to read! Donations aren't a big deal if not able, but prayers I could use plenty of. Please pray that the surgery goes well, no cancer is found/detected & that the recovery goes smooth.
