Carissa is a young girl who was born with a heart defect. When she was three weeks old she suffered a massive stroke which left her partially paralyzed on her right side. She needs 24 hour care due to the seizures she suffers from. The Doctors originally gave her 7 days to live but she is proving them wrong. She is now 18 physically, but mentally she is around 6 to 7 years old and is now a senior in high school.
In 2021 she lost her loving service dog Buttercup in a tragic car accident. Buttercup went everywhere with her and even helped her with her home schooling during Covid. Then, this year she found out that her Dad was going to lose his leg due to cancer. The doctors then told the family that he only had weeks to live because the cancer had spread all over his body.
Because they lost the home they were living in, Carissa's mother, Nickole, has since found herself and daughter without a home so she is living in an 8 x 10 bedroom with her daughter and all their belongings. She has found a home and has tried to get a loan. It was then she discovered that she has no credit of her own so she can not qualify for any loans.
She found a mobile home that is handicap accessible which is hard to find in a small town. She would like to buy it but needs the money because the seller wants all cash. All the savings they had has gone to Doctor bills.
