I am asking for help for myself and my two children, Oakley, 8, and Paislee, 7, as we try to get through the next two weeks safely. I recently left my partner of five years after the relationship became mentally abusive. This all comes on top of losing my sister very recently, and the grief and stress have been crushing, my partner quickly told me to suck it up and thT me crying privately on the back porch was Problem for him. And that was when it became so clear, I can’t trust a person with no empathy.

Today I was able to secure a new (for us) home for my children and me, but it will not be ready until September 1. Until then, we need a place to stay as soon as possible, whether that is a hotel, Airbnb, or even the cheapest motel.
I can see the way he treats my kids and he won’t respect me when I ask him to try different approaches.
i don’t want my kids with these wounds and I don’t think I will be able to stay with him until them considering he keeps telling me and my children he can kick us out whenever he wants…
My children have been deeply affected in different ways. Oakley is angry and confused and keeps asking why “dad” is not dad anymore. Paislee tries to be brave and silly, but cries with me in private. Seeing them carry this pain is what hurts me most. They do not deserve to feel cast aside during a time that is already so hard.
As for me, I am doing everything I can to keep moving forward, but I am crushed. This situation has also triggered my CPTSD, and some days I end up crying for hours. Even so, I am still trying to build a safe, stable home for my kids and get us to the next step.
I work full time, and I would not be asking for help if I did not desperately need to get away from him. I do not have family to fall back on, and I have only ever been able to rely on myself. I paid him $1,600 a month in rent because he said it was being saved in case we ever broke up and I needed help, but he has frozen me out. I am leaving with only my house decor and my car, which he has threatened to take even after I paid for it. thank you to whoever read this.
